Unique Foreign Travel

The first thing that came into my mind when I think of Belgium is of course Tintin and Snowy, a series of comic books drawn and written by Hergé. If you happen travel to Belgium, you can see the history of this comics at the Belgian Comic Strip Centre. A famous Belgian art form in a beautiful Art Nouveau Setting.

Belgium offers a number of interesting places to visit. It has deep and varied history, great museums, fine arts and delicious food. Brussels is definitely the very first place you need to stay if you are a first time visitor. A good place to start you tour of Brussels is the Grand Place (Grote Markt). Besides that Belgian Comic Strip Centre, you could see the world famous peeing boy, Manneken Pis. It can be seen every day and night at the corner of Eikstraat/Stoofstraat near the Grand Place.

If you plan to visit Belgium between April and September the town square and its buildings are illuminated at night to the rythm of classical music. As I said before, art is prominent in Brussels, so be sure you don’t miss the Gothic and Classical architectures of the city’s churches and palaces and the Royal Museum of Fine Art. And if you like Jurassic Park you must take a look at Museum of Natural Sciences, one of the most beautiful collections of Dinosaur skeletons that can be seen in the. The skeletons of the Iguanodons were found in the 19th century in the south-Belgian village of Bernissart.
